Beef Quality Assurance is an incredibly important program to the beef industry. It is a nationally coordinated, state-implemented program that provides guidelines to U.S. beef producers and consumers on how to raise cattle under the best management conditions. This certification was designed to provide consumers with reassurance that they can take pride in what they purchase for their families. The BQA programs include good management practices around record keeping and herd health which yields more profit for the producer.
Let us first introduce ourselves as JaTanna Williams and Natalie Kovarik –the best friend duo behind Ranch Wives Beef Co. Together in the fall of 2017 with a little preparation and a whole lotta faith, we jumped feet first into the ranch direct beef business and began shipping our family raised beef to customers near and far. Why the new adventure? It’s simple, really. As ranch wives and mothers, we wanted to find something that would allow us to contribute to our daily operations while simultaneously spending more time out and about on the ranch with our husbands and kiddos. Out of that desire came RWBCo., a company built out of love and appreciation for all things food, family and ranching.
Next up in our EPD Blog series is Simmental cattle. We asked Hofmann Simmental Farms for their perspective on EPDs, what they look for, and for some more information on their operation. Our goal is to begin a discussion because we know that there is SO much information out there on EPDs and a lot of people can get lost. With this blog series we aim to bring different perspectives and spark conversation, let us know your thoughts!

Fall and Winter are approaching fast and we want to bring you as much information as we can that can help you! We pulled aside Gary Wall of ORIgen to ask him a few questions on the trends in genetics for angus cattle and where he thinks the trends might move toward coming up. Big thank you to Gary because he is so knowledgable on the topic and we love bringing you guys perspectives from highly respected industry personnel! Check it out!
We are so excited to bring you Cody Creelman’s story. He is a prime example of the possibilities of what social media can do for your business. Although on a different scale, it is all relative. He has become such an inspiration to so many people, whether it be with their operation or in life as a mentor.
Cory Poser is the MT Angus Association President and we wanted to pull him aside to talk a little bit about the association and what the MT Angus Tour does for it and the angus breed. We asked him a few questions on what’s been going on in the association and where things are headed.
This past week, the KRose team spent the week at the MT Angus Tour that was based out of Missoula! We saw some great operations, great cattle, and met some even better people. Here’s where we went!
